I thoroughly enjoy paranormal encounters. When my eldest turned 50 he threw a party on the beach and bought 50 Japanese Wish Lanterns. When it got dark, we all trouped down to the water and released the lanterns with wishes for him. It was a spectacular sight with the full moon behind the lanterns. A number of us were taking pictures and several of us actually got pics of "Spirit Spheres"; little spheres of light that signify a spirit is present. These are the ones I got on film. They are in reverse order. My son and his sons are Native American, both White Mountain Apache and Chanook. This first pic gave me an instant message that their N.A. ancestors were in attendance and were doing a celebration dance in honor of his birthday. I was so thrilled to see it. My grandson and I are ghost hunters. We love to visit places with ghosts and visit with them.
You'll find pictures here of my medieval garb I've made, scrolls I have limned and/or illuminated, my attempts at quilting, my weaving, and just pictures I've taken and am proud of. I hope that you enjoy all of them. I certainly enjoyed taking the pictures and making the things in them.
The header picture on this page was taken by my son, Wolf Paw Studios.

Weaving is a new craft for me. My friend Andrew built me an Inkle loom so that I could weave trim for my medieval gowns. It's very easy to learn and so relaxing. Here are my first two efforts.
I'm also learning illumination for scrolls. The following are my first efforts. They are painted along the lines of the Book of Kells and the colors that are used in it.
Quilting is something else that I enjoy doing. I like the process of seeing the colors and patterns come together. These are a number of wall quilts that I made for my family members. I'm very happy with how they came out. My friend Marye let me use her fence to hang them on.
One of my wall quilts. Made for Chris, my son-in-law.
This is a tablet woven pattern.
I wove these two Medieval belts for my youngest two granddaughters on my inkle loom. The dates on my camera won't work properly. This was taken in 2012.
This is one of my very first attempts at limning and illumination of scrolls. The patterns is nickle flowers and peppers. It's sideways and should be upright.
An art photo taken at Big Lagoon State Park.
This is one of my art photos. I bought a car this week and there was this beautiful magnolia tree next to my car. The flowers had just opened and I got this pic.
My first project in tablet weaving. I am very happy that it came out as nicely as it did. I like the color contrast.
This is my second tablet weaving project. I warped the last nine cards backwards and that is why the pattern doesn't "mirror" itself. I still like the way it came out though.
This incredible tree reminded me of something out of Lord of the rings!
This is Roxie, a feral whom I feed. She had 3 or 4 kittens several weeks ago and moved them under my window. She craves petting and I indulge her to the fullest. She's a great little mommy. Her harem is my little boy Sulie, Sunshine, and Beau.
Sulie guarding Roxie from Beau, who plagues her.
This is Beau the brat boy. He was born in Sulie's litter and disappeared at about 6 mos old. He returned after over 18 months and beats up on all the other kitties. He's a brat, but still loveable.
This is my Sunshine boy. He's another one I feed and he is the sweetest kitty I have ever been owned by except for Sweetums. He's not an alpha, so Beau beats up on him all the time. I am hoping that someday he will let me make him a house kitty. He loves to be petted. It took me 2 years for him to feel safe enough for me to touch him. Sulie and Beau are two. Sunshine is 2 1/2, and Roxie is about 9 months old.
This is a different variation of the same pic that is below. I was trying to follow the pattern for "Ram's Head" and I just couldn't make it work. I like the variations that came out of it though.
This is a modified "Ram's Head" that I call "Tides of Life" done in mango, soft yellow, and white.
These are two belts I made for family. I really like the dark background. It makes the colors pop.
I love to sculpt primitive goddess figures. This is my version of the goddess Oceana birthing the oceans.
I also enjoy photography. The following are some of my art pictures. This first one was taken inside a restored hacienda in Old Town in San Diego, CA.
The beach along the Gulf of Mexico. Our sand is not "sand". It is tiny beads of quartz crystal that washes down from the crystal mines that are north of Florida. You will only find this quartz beach on the Emerald Coast of Florida. It squeeks when you walk on it.
This is an antique car that was in the back yard of an empty home near where I lived. My daddy had one of these when I was in the 3rd grade.
I took this in Wyoming, next to a bison ranch.
An abandoned chicken coop. I can see beauty where few people do.
This was very early morning and the sun hadn't come up yet, after our first snow. It struck me as msytical somehow. It's an old hazelnut orchard at dawn.
This is my version of Leviathon
My first try at an Amish quilt made from scraps of other quilts. I haven't finished it yet.
This is a quilt made from corderoy scraps that I made for my friend Billy before he died.
An Americana quilt for my daughter-in-law.
This is an ongoing project for one of my grandsons. By the time he settles down and gets married I should have it finished.
My eldest granddaughter's roses quilt.
My daughter-in-law's butterfly wall hanging.
My eldest son's wall hanging.
